MAD ABOUT BALLET

TUTUTUTU has grown from my background in design and a love ballet, shared by my two ballet-mad daughters.

Having made costumes for the children when they were young I realised how difficult it was to make proper ballet tutus. I decided to get professional training, which I found with the wonderful seamstress in charge of costume construction at the Royal Ballet. She taught me to make tutus in the traditional way: on good strong foundations, with excellent materials, for costumes which last and last.

So it grew from there. I love the challenge of  a new brief: meeting the dancer, hearing about the forthcoming performance, discussing what they like (and don't like) about other costumes, and then developing something especially suited to their needs.

We design and make for individuals, colleges and companies.

The ballet wrap skirt business has grown quite naturally, through my daughters needs during their training. Something fun and pretty to freshen up their look without having to buy new leotards. Tutututu has developed a customisable collection which we hope you'll love.

Each and every costume is made by hand, here in the UK.
